The history of Winkhaus

The story of the Group of companies.

In 2004, the Winkhaus Group celebrated its 150th anniversary. The family-owned company, with its headquarters at Telgte, near Münster in Germany, can look back on a history of success filled with tradition.

The company's founder, August Winkhaus, opened an agency business selling hardware and specializing in padlocks in 1854. From these humble beginnings grew a multinational corporation that today employs approximately 2000 people all over the world in its three business divisions: Doors, Windows and Automation.
